Jobe Bellingham is on the verge of following in his brother Jude’s footsteps—with a move to Borussia Dortmund now close to becoming reality.
The 18-year-old attacking midfielder, who shined for Sunderland in the Championship and helped the club earn promotion to the Premier League, has verbally agreed to join Dortmund, according to Bild. Despite interest from Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Leipzig, the younger Bellingham prefers the Yellow Wall—and not just for sentimental reasons.
A Familiar Path
Having regularly visited Dortmund during Jude’s successful spell at the club, Jobe is no stranger to the Signal Iduna Park. He’s already familiar with the atmosphere, the culture, and the development model that helped catapult his older brother to global stardom. The project pitched by manager Niko Kovac and sporting director Lars Ricken reportedly played a key role in his decision.
From Dortmund to Real?
Talks are underway between Dortmund and Sunderland, with the German club aiming to cap the deal at €25 million. Sunderland, however, are holding out for a higher fee. While an agreement is not yet final, both parties appear motivated to find common ground.
Fans are already speculating about the dream reunion: could Jobe one day join Jude at Real Madrid? For now, the focus is on Bundesliga development—but the ambition is clear. Just like his brother, Jobe Bellingham is aiming high.
