In a surprising twist, Paris Saint-Germain have dropped a spot in the UEFA club rankings—just days after lifting their first-ever Champions League trophy.

Despite their triumph in Munich, PSG now sit 5th in the UEFA standings, behind Real Madrid (new No.1), Manchester City, Bayern Munich, and Liverpool. The update, published Tuesday, reflects UEFA’s five-year points system. Unfortunately for the French champions, their 2020 final appearance has now expired from the calculation, costing them valuable coefficient points.

Among other French clubs: Lille hold 31st, Marseille drop to 45th, and Brest make their historic debut at 108th, following a stellar domestic season and qualification for European competition.

Winning the Champions League changes everything—just maybe not your ranking.
