Barcelona are going all-in this summer. With the support of Hansi Flick and the dressing room, Nico Williams has become the top attacking priority for the club.
Nico Williams is getting a warm welcome—even before signing. Barça stars like Lamine Yamal, Cubarsí, Fermín López, and Dani Olmo are all said to be urging the winger to join them. The Spanish international, fresh off a standout Euro 2024, has reportedly reached a pre-agreement for a contract until 2031, worth €12 million per year.
Williams has already turned down interest from Bayern Munich, giving clear priority to Barcelona.
One condition: pay the clause
Athletic Bilbao won’t negotiate. The only way to land Williams is to trigger his €60 million release clause—paid in full. Barça’s ongoing financial constraints and LaLiga’s FFP rules complicate the move, but rising club revenue is giving president Joan Laporta hope.
If completed, the transfer would reunite the exciting Spain duo of Yamal and Williams at club level—a blockbuster move to kick off the summer window.
