Stunning upset in Pasadena. Paris Saint-Germain fell 1-0 to Brazilian side Botafogo in their second Club World Cup group-stage match. The only goal of the game came in the 36th minute, when Igor Jesus punished a defensive error to put the underdogs in front.
Despite dominating possession and creating chances — with Kvaratskhelia and Barcola going close — PSG couldn’t break through a disciplined Botafogo defense, nor past their standout goalkeeper.
This shock result puts Botafogo top of Group B, while PSG must now beat Seattle on Monday to secure qualification. No more room for mistakes.
