Lionel Messi continues to defy time and defenders. On Thursday, the Argentine maestro led Inter Miami to a 2-1 comeback win against FC Porto in the Club World Cup — and did it in spectacular fashion.
Down 1-0 early in the game, Miami found its saviour once again. At the edge of the box, Messi curled a stunning free kick straight into the top corner, leaving the Porto goalkeeper rooted to the spot. It was vintage Messi — precise, elegant, unstoppable.
At nearly 38 years old, the World Cup winner shows no signs of slowing down. His goal gave Miami the lead shortly before the hour mark and proved decisive as they held on for victory.
