Free to sign after his doping ban was reduced, Paul Pogba is set to relaunch his career at AS Monaco. According to Foot Mercato and RMC Sport, an agreement was reached this Sunday between the French midfielder and the Ligue 1 club.
“La Pioche” chooses Ligue 1
Despite interest from several clubs — including Saudi side Al-Ittihad — Pogba has opted for a return to France. The 31-year-old has reportedly accepted a significant pay cut to finalize the move. He will sign a contract until 2027 and is expected to join Monaco for pre-season training.
A big statement from Monaco
With Al-Ittihad hesitant to move forward without a president in place, Monaco seized the opportunity. Pogba is seen as a marquee addition and will be expected to bring leadership and experience to the squad.
However, after nearly two years without competitive football due to suspension, Pogba will need time to regain his rhythm. Still, the Principality club believes they’ve landed a new midfield boss.
