Big surprise from Alexandre Lacazette. Out of contract with Lyon, the 34-year-old striker is heading to Saudi Arabia, where he will sign for newly-promoted Neom FC.
According to L’Équipe, the former OL captain has agreed to a two-year deal with the Saudi club based in the northwest of the kingdom. Medical tests are already done, and only a few final details remain before the move becomes official. At Neom, Lacazette will reunite with Saïd Benrahma, who signed permanently this summer after a strong loan.
From Lyon to Saudi Arabia
Neom earned promotion with a dominant season in Saudi D2, scoring 80 goals and topping the table. The club even tried (unsuccessfully) to lure Kevin De Bruyne. Now with Lacazette, they add a proven goalscorer with 19 goals in 42 games last season.
As OL drops into Ligue 2, their former talisman embarks on a new adventure — and another high-profile name joins the Saudi revolution.
