Paul Pogba is edging closer to a move to AS Monaco, but the deal isn’t done just yet. While optimism is growing, the process is taking time.
According to RMC Sport, the 32-year-old midfielder has successfully completed the first phase of his medical—a crucial step given that Pogba hasn’t played a competitive match since September 2023.
Arriving in Nice on Thursday, Pogba underwent a series of medical tests. Early reports are positive, but the second part of the medical, likely to assess long-term fitness and risk, is still to come and will be decisive.
2026 World Cup in Sight
If cleared, Monaco is expected to announce one of the biggest transfers of the summer, bringing in a motivated Pogba determined to reboot his career and aim for a spot in France’s 2026 World Cup squad.
For now, the transfer is progressing well, with confidence growing in Monaco’s camp that the signing will be finalized soon.
