David Beckham has been hospitalized in Los Angeles for surgery on an old wrist injury — one that dates back over two decades.

The former football star, now 50, had been experiencing persistent discomfort linked to a metal pin implanted after a fracture he suffered during an England match in 2003.

The news was shared by his wife, Victoria Beckham, who posted photos of Beckham in a hospital bed, right arm in a sling, along with a heartfelt message: “Get well soon, daddy.”

Beckham’s Past Comes Back to Haunt Him

According to The Sun, the pin, which was supposed to dissolve over time, instead became embedded deeper into his wrist, leading to the need for surgery. Despite being retired, the effects of his playing days continue to linger.

Still close to the game, Beckham is expected to be back in the stands soon, cheering for Inter Miami — the club he co-owns — as they face his former team, Paris Saint-Germain, in the FIFA Club World Cup this Sunday.

A fitting reminder of Beckham’s final days as a professional footballer, which he spent wearing PSG colors.
