It’s official: Olivier Giroud is back in Ligue 1 — 13 years after leaving it. The French striker confirmed on Monday, following his final game with Los Angeles FC, that he has signed with LOSC Lille.
“LOSC ticked a lot of boxes for me and my family,” he explained. “I want to be a leader on and off the pitch, a link between the youngsters and the staff. And playing in the Europa League is exciting.”
A choice from the heart… and the head
“I think French fans are happy that Paul Pogba (now at Monaco) and I are returning to Ligue 1. A few years ago, I would’ve told you coming back wasn’t part of my plans.”
