A new chapter begins at Bayern Munich. With Leroy Sané officially departing the club to join Galatasaray on July 1, the iconic number 10 shirt has found a new owner. On Tuesday morning, Bayern confirmed that Jamal Musiala will inherit the famous number after the Club World Cup.

Since making his debut in 2020, Musiala has worn the number 42 — a number that has become synonymous with his rapid rise and growing influence within the squad. Now a key figure alongside Harry Kane, the German international takes a symbolic step forward in his career.

Sané, who had worn the number 10 for the past five seasons, left the team following the round of 16 to complete his move to Galatasaray.

The handover marks a significant transition in Bayern’s locker room, just weeks before the 2025–26 season kicks off.
