Inter Milan: Lautaro Martinez fires a warning after shock elimination to Fluminense… with one player in the crosshairs.
Things keep going from bad to worse for Inter Milan. Just weeks after being humiliated in the Champions League final, the Nerazzurri are now out of the Club World Cup following a surprise 2-0 loss to Fluminense.
Lautaro explodes: “If you don’t want to stay, leave”
A frustrated Lautaro Martinez, Inter’s captain, didn’t hold back after the defeat. “Those who don’t want to be here must leave. My message is clear,” he declared, hinting at discontent within the squad after a trophyless season.
Zero titles and internal tension
Inter were hammered 5-0 by PSG in the Champions League final, then lost the Italian Super Cup to AC Milan. “You have to want to be part of this team. I saw a lot of things I didn’t like,” added Lautaro, without naming names.
Marotta points to Calhanoglu
Inter president Giuseppe Marotta, however, wasn’t shy: “I think he was referring to Calhanoglu.” The Turkish midfielder has been linked with an exit in recent weeks. “We’ll talk to him and handle the situation. If someone wants to leave, it’s better they do.”
The message is loud and clear: Inter are preparing to reset. And Lautaro Martinez wants to lead by example as the standard-bearer in the locker room.
