Bruno Guimarães has rejected a lucrative offer from Al Hilal. The Saudi club submitted an official bid for the Newcastle midfielder, hoping to convince him to join the Saudi Pro League. However, the Brazilian quickly made his stance clear: he wants to continue his career in Europe.
Despite this failed attempt, the Saudi sovereign wealth fund (PIF), which controls multiple clubs, made a renewed push. Several alternative projects were presented to the player from other PIF-backed teams. But once again, Guimarães stood firm, according to Team Talk.
Staying competitive with the 2026 World Cup in mind
Guimarães remains fully committed to Newcastle, where he plays a key role in the club’s project. His priority is to stay at the top level, compete in the Champions League, and maintain his form ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
The former Athletico Paranaense and Lyon player has no interest in the Gulf’s financial offers. For him, staying in Europe is the best way to grow as a player and secure his place in Brazil’s national team.
