Cristiano Ronaldo has officially declined to take part in the Club World Cup this summer. Despite receiving several proposals, the Portuguese superstar opted for rest over action.
Fresh off signing a two-year contract extension with Al Nassr, the 40-year-old forward is focused on pacing himself for the demanding season ahead. “I had offers to play the Club World Cup, but it didn’t make sense. I prefer to rest well and prepare properly because the season will be very long, and there’s the World Cup at the end,” Ronaldo told Al Nassr TV.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is making no secret of his goal: be in top form for what could be his final major tournament, the 2026 FIFA World Cup. A calculated decision from a veteran who still has big ambitions.
