It’s shaping up to be one of the smartest deals of the summer. Hugo Ekitike — once a flop at PSG, now a star in Germany — is on the verge of signing with Liverpool. And the Parisian club is about to cash in… without lifting a finger.
After a sensational season with Eintracht Frankfurt (22 goals, 12 assists), the 23-year-old forward has caught the eye of several Premier League clubs, including Newcastle and Manchester United. But it’s Liverpool that won the race. According to Foot Mercato, the Reds have already agreed personal terms with the French striker — contract, salary, and duration are all locked in.
PSG played it smart
Now, Liverpool just needs to find common ground with Frankfurt, who are asking between €80 and €100 million. If the deal is sealed at €98 million, PSG will pocket around €16.3 million thanks to a 20% sell-on clause negotiated during his departure.
From unwanted in Paris to in-demand at Anfield, Ekitike could be in for a major step up — and PSG for an unexpected windfall. A true win-win.
