It’s official: Illia Zabarnyi will wear the Paris Saint-Germain shirt. At 22, the central defender becomes the first Ukrainian player in the club’s history.
Known for his strength and composure under pressure, he will take the No. 6 shirt.
A product of Dynamo Kyiv, Zabarnyi quickly established himself as a key figure, racking up Champions League appearances and winning multiple domestic trophies. Moving to Bournemouth in 2023, he impressed in the Premier League with 37 games played and was named the club’s Player of the Year by the fans.
With 49 caps for Ukraine, he brings power, positioning and consistency. “I’m ready to give everything for this club,” said the new Parisian. For Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, he is “an exemplary professional” who fits perfectly into PSG’s long-term project.
