After a dominant 5-0 win over South Korea, Brazil suffered a major setback, losing 3-2 to Japan despite leading 2-0.

Goals from Paulo Henrique and Martinelli weren’t enough, as the Seleção crumbled following a costly error from Fabrício Bruno, earning just his fourth cap.

Carlo Ancelotti refused to single out the defender, instead criticising the team’s collapse as a whole. “Tonight is a lesson. The team played very well in the first half but was very poor in the second,” he said.
