Neymar’s New Club Will Be an Old Club

Neymar just keeps shocking everyone. While rumors had already sent him to Inter Miami to reunite with Lionel Messi, or even to Napoli for one last European adventure, the Brazilian superstar has apparently chosen a completely different path… staying at Santos.
According to AS, Neymar is set to extend his contract until the 2026 World Cup, even though his current deal ends on December 31.

A totally unexpected decision? Not really. Inter Miami had informal contact — they dreamed of a Messi–Neymar reunion, version 3.0. Napoli saw him as their next attacking prince after missing out on Kevin De Bruyne last summer (and De Bruyne is now injured long-term…).
But at 33, Neymar wants to stay in Brazil, rebuild quietly, and maximize his chances of making the 2026 World Cup squad. None of the approaches from Miami or Napoli had turned into a real contract anyway.
