Nothing is going well for Olivier Giroud in Lille. However, his coach Bruno Génésio is not worried about his striker, the former French international. “It will come back.”
Olivier Giroud had a difficult evening against Strasbourg. Guilty of a poorly adjusted back pass that gifted the second goal to Emegha, the 39-year-old striker is also going through a complicated offensive period: nine matches without scoring in all competitions.
Giroud “knows how to manage and bounce back”
But Bruno Génésio refuses to panic. “I am not worried,” assured the Lille coach. “He gave a lot at the beginning of the season, and he is paying for it now. In his career, he has already experienced this. He knows how to manage and bounce back.”
The coach remains fully confident: for him, Giroud will eventually find the back of the net again. But it shouldn’t take too long now…
