Lionel Messi was able to discover the brand new Camp Nou. FC Barcelona did not invited him this weekend to visit the stadium still under construction. But he was there anyway.
Leo Messi is back at Barça… at least temporarily. On Sunday evening, Messi made a surprise visit to the new Camp Nou, completely incognito.
Then, like a bombshell, he posted several photos on Instagram, alone on the renovated pitch, with a meaningful message: “Last night, I returned to a place that I miss terribly… I hope that one day I can come back, and not just to say goodbye as a player.”
A phrase that is already igniting the hearts of the fans. Between nostalgia, hope, and thrill, the dream of a final match (or more?) for Messi at Barça has just come back to life.
Tribute to Messi Planned for 2026
President Joan Laporta had warned: a giant tribute to Lionel Messi will indeed take place at the new Camp Nou… but “not before the end of 2026.” In the end, fans will not have to wait that long to see the Argentine legend in his Catalan garden, even if it was without an audience.
