OL still hopes to land Endrick this winter to strengthen its attack, despite Satriano’s brace and the team’s recent offensive improvement. Michele Kang is pushing to finalize a deal quickly with Real Madrid, where the young Brazilian has played only 11 minutes this season.
Endrick to OL was done… or almost. But Madrid is deliberately stalling. The club does not want to let Endrick go until Xabi Alonso has a reliable backup in case of trouble, especially if Mbappé were to get injured.
And things are getting even more complicated: the draw in Girona has weakened Alonso, whose future is now uncertain. A potential successor could decide to give Endrick another chance, after the Spanish coach has ignored him so far.
Xabi Alonso fired, Endrick retained?
According to the Spanish press, Real is trying to delay his departure as much as possible, as Marcos Benito explained on El Chiringuito: “The club doesn’t want to be left without a backup option. And if a new coach arrives, he might want to keep Endrick. Speeding up his loan would be a strategic mistake.”
Result: Lyon waits… but Madrid won’t take any risks.
