PSG opened its medical update with a deliberate surprise. In agreement with the sporting management and coaching staff, Willian Pacho has been given rest and will not take part in the Coupe de France round of 32.

A well-earned break for Willian Pacho. The defender will rejoin the squad after the Christmas break, a precautionary decision rather than a cause for concern. With Pacho on holiday and Safonov sidelined, PSG are rotating their squad ahead of Christmas.

Squad Management Ahead of the Holidays

Behind this management choice, Paris must also deal with several major absences. A recent hero on the international stage, Matvey Safonov has been forced to withdraw. The Russian goalkeeper is suffering from a fracture to his left hand and is expected to be out for an estimated three to four weeks.
