It is bad news for PSG on the eve of a major European fixture. Already absent against Lille in Ligue 1, João Neves is once again ruled out for the trip to Sporting Portugal in the Champions League.
Suffering from a muscle problem, the Portuguese midfielder does not appear in the squad selected by Luis Enrique. On Tuesday night (9 p.m., on Canal+), Paris Saint-Germain travel to the José Alvalade Stadium to face Sporting on Matchday 7 of the 2025–2026 Champions League. Third in the standings, the Parisians will try to strengthen their position against a Lisbon side currently 14th.
PSG Travel to Lisbon Without a Key Midfielder
Luis Enrique has named a slightly reshuffled group for the trip: Chevalier, Marin and James as goalkeepers; Beraldo, Marquinhos, Mendes, Pacho and Zabarnyi in defense; Mayulu, Fabian Ruiz, Vitinha and Zaïre-Emery in midfield; Barcola, Dembélé, Doué, Kvaratskhelia, Nsoki and Ramos in attack.
Several absentees are to be noted. Lee, Ndjantou, Safonov and Neves are out injured. Hakimi and Mbaye have been rested, while Lucas Hernandez is suspended. Despite these absences, PSG still arrive with a competitive squad and will have the tools to chase an important result in Lisbon.
