Driven by Kylian Mbappé, the France national football team secured a doubling of their match bonuses linked to image rights.

Les Bleus earned more without playing more. After the 4-0 victory over Ukraine on November 13, which secured qualification for the 2026 World Cup, Mbappé demanded that the team receive double bonuses. Usually set at €21,000 per player for image rights, the bonus was increased to €42,000 following swift approval from French Football Federation president Philippe Diallo.

But that was not all. At Mbappé’s request, the technical staff also benefited from a pay raise. It was a strong signal sent internally. Starters, substitutes, head coach Didier Deschamps, his assistants, and the entire staff were all included. According to L’Équipe, the total additional cost of the operation amounts to nearly €550,000.
