FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta dropped a bombshell on Spanish outlet Jijantes: yes, PSG did attempt to sign Lamine Yamal. According to Laporta, the Parisian club submitted a staggering €250 million offer for the young prodigy two years ago.

Lamine Yamal could have worn the PSG shirt. “PSG offered us €250 million for Lamine Yamal two years ago. We refused. He was 17 at the time, and some people thought we were crazy,” Laporta revealed. A massive statement that places Yamal at the center of what could have been a historic transfer.

Conflicting Versions Over a Record-Breaking Offer

However, Paris Saint-Germain strongly denies the claim. According to an article published by L’Équipe on November 19, 2024, the French club categorically rejected the story. “We deny it a million percent. We did not have the financial capacity to make such an offer,” PSG reportedly stated.
