Rafa Mir’s situation is becoming increasingly serious in Spain. The striker, currently on loan at Valencia CF from Sevilla FC, is facing the possibility of a heavy prison sentence.
According to Las Provincias, prosecutors are seeking a sentence of ten and a half years in prison for the player over an alleged aggravated sexual assault. The incident reportedly dates back to September 2024, following a meeting with a woman in a nightclub who later accompanied him to his home.

After the victim filed a complaint, Rafa Mir was arrested and spent nearly two days in custody. In court, he denied the accusations and claims the relationship was consensual.

The public prosecutor is also requesting several additional measures: a 13-year restraining order preventing him from approaching the victim within 500 meters, seven years of probation, an eight-year ban on working with minors, and a fine of around €64,000. Under these circumstances, the Spanish striker’s season already appears to be compromised.
