PSG holds all the cards, while the City of Paris is trying to catch up. Determined to keep the club in the capital, Emmanuel Grégoire is pushing to speed things up. “I want to quickly reopen discussions (…) we will do everything to ensure the right conditions are met,” he stated, aiming to finalize the matter by the end of summer. Internally, however, this timeline is raising concerns. “He wants to move fast. Maybe too fast…,” confided a source close to the matter.
PSG Exploring Alternative Stadium Options
PSG has not waited for the new administration to move forward. The club is already working on solid alternatives, particularly in Massy and Poissy, with studies expected by the end of summer. The idea is clear: compare all options in the fall and make a decision before winter, without being dictated by political timing.
Between the potential sale of the Parc des Princes, its expansion (up to 60,000 seats), and numerous administrative hurdles, the project is far from simple. “There are many obstacles,” insiders acknowledge. As a result, despite pressure from city officials, PSG remains in control and is now waiting for a concrete, solid… and above all competitive offer against alternatives that are already well underway.
