Riding a perfect wave of momentum, the France national football team could make a major statement tonight. Les Bleus have a golden opportunity: reclaim the top spot in the FIFA rankings, a position they have not held since 2018.

Thanks to their victories over the Brazil national football team (2-1) and the Colombia national football team (3-1), Didier Deschamps’ men have significantly closed the gap. They are now just 1.8 points behind the Spain national football team, the current leader.

The situation is simple: if La Roja fail to beat the Egypt national football team this Tuesday, they will drop enough points to be overtaken. A draw or a defeat would therefore open the door for Les Bleus to return to the summit of world football.
