Olympique de Marseille is set for a major overhaul: a new president, a new coach, a new sporting director, and possibly even a departure from the Commanderie training ground. All these upcoming changes, combined with the next transfer window, are raising concerns for Jérôme Rothen, speaking on RMC.

Currently searching for a new president, Marseille is preparing for turbulent months ahead, with numerous expected changes in its structure. This instability could weigh heavily as the 2026–2027 season approaches.

The former Paris Saint-Germain player pointed to a lack of clarity on several levels: “This year will leave marks on the people involved. That’s where I’m a bit worried about next season, at least at the beginning.”

He also questioned the club’s current organization: “It’s already early April, you no longer have a president or a sporting director, and you’ve just brought in a coach who was appointed by your former sporting director. I don’t even know why Medhi Benatia is still there if his departure in June is already confirmed.” Facing this uncertain period, owner Frank McCourt will need to act quickly to restore stability and properly prepare for the upcoming season.
