Less than three months before the 2026 World Cup, Neymar is going through a difficult period, caught between sporting uncertainty and constant criticism. He makes no secret of it—this is far from a happy time.

Neymar is full of doubt. Troubled by recurring injuries and limited playing time, the number 10 at Santos could even miss the World Cup. Carlo Ancelotti will only select him if he is at his best… and the deadline is just two months away.

A career weighed down by pressure and sacrifice

In his YouTube mini-series, he reflects on his recent absence: “After the match against Internacional, I felt a slight pain… I didn’t feel comfortable playing under those conditions.” A decision that “caused a huge uproar,” but one he fully stands by: “People will talk, there’s no escape.”

The Brazilian also opened up about the sacrifices demanded by his career. “I was 13 or 14… I didn’t go out, I trained. That’s the price to pay,” he explains, aware of how far he has come but still marked by constant pressure. “In Brazil, it’s especially tough. People constantly criticize you and forget that you are human.”

Mentally affected, Neymar no longer hides his fatigue in the face of judgment. “I feel the same things you do: I suffer too… I cry, I get angry… that’s normal.” Reflecting on his journey, he concludes: “I’m 34, I’ve already made many mistakes and I’ll make more.” Between physical doubts and media pressure, Neymar may well be playing the final chapters of his international career.
