Paris Saint-Germain experienced an extraordinary night against Bayern Munich (5-4) in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final. A completely wild match, unanimously praised by the Parisian players, still stunned by the intensity and spectacle on display.

At the final whistle, Vitinha struggled to come down from the high. The Portuguese midfielder simply lived a unique evening in his career. “We are happy to beat Bayern, it’s very difficult. We saw a great football match, I think the best I’ve played in my life.” A feeling widely shared, as this encounter reached a level rarely seen in the Champions League.

The same observation was made by Luis Enrique, despite his experience with big matches. The Parisian coach admitted he had never experienced such a game from the bench. “Did I enjoy it? Of course! The match was exceptional. I have never experienced, as a coach, a match with such intensity and such a desire to win.”

The Spaniard insisted on the completely crazy pace of the game. “I have never seen a rhythm like this. It’s incredible, we must congratulate both teams and all the players.” However, he remains cautious for what comes next. “When you have a three-goal lead and think it’s a very positive result, the opponent takes many risks and they are of a very high level. It was complicated and it will be the same in the second leg.”

Captain Marquinhos also enjoyed this extraordinary clash. “All football lovers must have loved it. For us on the pitch, it was a real pleasure to play. These are the matches we dream of throughout our childhood.” The defender highlighted the mindset of both teams: “They are two teams with the mentality to never give up, always press, always move forward.” Despite the euphoria, he stays grounded: “We have a small advantage but we must go there with the mindset to win.”

Man of the match, Ousmane Dembélé also emphasized the quality of the spectacle. “We saw two great teams that attack and don’t ask questions. Bayern is a great team, so are we.” The forward acknowledged a lapse from PSG: “We are happy with the result, even if we stopped playing a bit at 5-2.” Before sending a clear message for the return leg: “It was an incredible match, we will go to Munich to win and qualify. We will have to stay focused, but I think it will be a great match.”
