José Mourinho’s potential return to Real Madrid is becoming a massive story in Spain. According to Fabrizio Romano, direct talks have been ongoing for several weeks between the Portuguese manager, his entourage, and the Madrid board despite recent public denials.
José Mourinho is reportedly getting closer and closer to signing for Real Madrid. But the possible comeback of the “Special One” would not happen under just any conditions. According to Diario AS, Mourinho has already outlined his demands to Florentino Pérez before any potential return to the Real bench.
Mourinho Wants Full Power at Real Madrid
The Portuguese coach reportedly wants significant influence over the summer transfer market and wishes to be directly involved in decisions regarding the positions that need strengthening. Above all, Mourinho is demanding total freedom in his work with zero outside interference.
“Everyone must stay in their own role,” Mourinho reportedly told the Real Madrid hierarchy. A very clear message sent to the club before any final agreement is reached.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Mourinho operation is now fully underway, and Benfica is beginning to realize it will be extremely difficult to keep its manager amid Real Madrid’s interest. Radio COPE even claims the deal is almost completed, with José Mourinho expected to become the next Real Madrid coach once the season officially ends. The final decision now rests with Florentino Pérez, but the incredible return of the “Special One” to Madrid has never seemed closer.
