Brazil’s biggest fear has now been confirmed. According to AFP, Neymar is indeed suffering from an injury that is expected to keep him sidelined for at least two weeks.
It is a huge blow for the Seleção just days before the start of the World Cup. The Brazilian forward could miss the opening matches of the tournament this summer, as his condition continues to worry the national team’s medical staff.
Neymar’s Injury Worries Brazil
Neymar arrived at the training camp with calf pain and quickly underwent extensive medical examinations in Teresópolis. Images of the Brazilian star leaving the clinic with a very serious expression had already sparked major concern across the country.
For now, the Brazilian federation remains cautious about the exact length of his absence. However, internally, fears are growing that Neymar could miss the beginning of the World Cup.
At 34 years old, the Santos player remains Brazil’s biggest technical and media leader. A prolonged absence would represent a major shock for the Seleção before the competition has even begun.
