It was expected, and it is now official: Davide Ancelotti is the new head coach of LOSC. Carlo Ancelotti’s son has signed until June 2028 and succeeds Bruno Genesio on the Lille bench.
After years working alongside his famous father at PSG, Bayern Munich, Napoli, Everton, Real Madrid and then with the Brazilian national team, the Italian is finally set to stand on his own. At 36, he is preparing for his first major European adventure as a head coach.
A Bold New Era Begins at Lille
It is a choice that is both intriguing and appealing. Despite a résumé packed with prestigious experience, Davide Ancelotti has never yet managed a top-level club over a long spell. But Olivier Létang firmly believes in his potential, having known him since their time together at PSG.
“I am very proud and happy, and I thank President Olivier Létang for his trust and for this opportunity. The LOSC project suits me, with a clear identity, high standards and hard work. It is an honor for me to represent LOSC today,” Ancelotti said.
Létang also welcomed the arrival of Carlo Ancelotti’s son, describing him as “a great professional” with “all the qualities and skills of a modern coach.” After the Genesio era, a new chapter is opening in Lille, with a prestigious name on the bench and inevitably high expectations.
