A victory for the French national team at the 2026 World Cup would have consequences far beyond the pitch. According to L’Équipe, the French Football Federation (FFF) would receive a significant financial bonus from Nike if France were crowned world champions.
Nike and France are fully aligned in their ambitions. The contract between the FFF and the American sportswear giant includes a €3 million bonus should Les Bleus lift the trophy and secure a third star following their triumphs in 1998 and 2018.
Nike Bonuses Linked to World Cup Success
Even if France falls short in the final, the federation would not leave empty-handed. A clause also guarantees a €1 million bonus if Didier Deschamps’ men reach the World Cup final but fail to win the tournament.
These provisions are nothing new. After France’s historic World Cup victory in Russia in 2018, the FFF already received a similar bonus from Nike. It provides yet another incentive for French supporters to dream of another triumph in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
