Here is a problem nobody saw coming. After Germany’s 7-1 demolition of Curaçao, Adidas had to temporarily suspend sales of some Mannschaft jerseys for a completely unusual reason: it had run out of the letter “V”.
The German national team has gone viral despite itself. Hit by the success of Kimmich’s teammates, German sportswear giant Adidas saw orders explode for jerseys bearing the names of Deniz Undav, Kai Havertz and Aleksandar Pavlović. As a result, the printing workshops ran out of “V” letters.
Adidas Runs Out of V Letters
For a few hours, German supporters found a surprising message on the Adidas website: “Sorry, we are temporarily out of the letter V.” It was a very rare situation that quickly amused users on social media.
Fortunately for Germany national football team fans, the issue was quickly fixed. Stocks were replenished and the printed jerseys of the players concerned are already available to order again.
Between World Cup goals and record jersey sales, Germany is clearly on a roll. So much so that it even caused a shortage of a single letter of the alphabet. A rather flattering side effect for the Mannschaft.
