Olympique de Marseille are beginning to step up their activity in the transfer market. Despite a still-delicate financial situation and the need to reassure the DNCG, Bruno Genesio hopes to secure several reinforcements for his new squad.
One of the options being considered is Ethan Mbappé. According to BFM Marseille, the new OM coach would like to reunite with the young midfielder, whom he previously managed at Lille.
Genesio Is a Big Admirer of Ethan Mbappé
The French coach knows the former PSG player’s qualities very well. His versatility, technical ability and capacity to support attacking moves would suit the style of football Genesio wants to implement in Marseille. At just 19, Ethan Mbappé still has significant room for improvement, making him both an immediate reinforcement and an interesting long-term investment.
However, the deal is unlikely to be straightforward. Under contract with Lille until June 2027, the French midfielder is reportedly valued at around €10 million, a substantial fee for Marseille given their current financial situation.
OM’s management will therefore have to find the right formula to move forward with the transfer. With Genesio strongly supporting the move, however, Ethan Mbappé could quickly become one of Marseille’s main priorities this summer.
