A bittersweet night for Alexandre Lacazette. The 33-year-old striker starred on the pitch with a brace against Angers (2–0)—in what appeared to be his final match for Olympique Lyonnais. But the evening took a dark turn once the game ended.
According to Le Progrès, Lacazette’s apartment was burglarized around 9:30 PM on Saturday while he was still at the Groupama Stadium. The intruders allegedly accessed the property via a technical shaft in the building, located in downtown Lyon.
Valuable Goods Stolen
The thieves made off with cash, jewelry, and luxury leather goods, with the total loss estimated in the tens of thousands of euros.
A Cruel Twist to a Farewell Night
It’s a harsh blow for Lacazette, who may have just played his final game in an OL shirt—both symbolically and literally. His future remains uncertain, but this incident adds an unfortunate note to what should’ve been a celebratory farewell.
From glory to heartbreak, Lacazette’s night was anything but ordinary.
