It is official: João Cancelo is returning to FC Barcelona. An agreement has been reached with Al Hilal.
The Catalan club confirmed this Tuesday that it has struck a deal with Al Hilal for the loan of the Portuguese full-back until the end of the season. At 31, the Lusitanian, who already played in Catalonia during the 2023–2024 campaign, will wear the number 2 shirt.
Cancelo returns to strengthen Barcelona’s right flank
This comeback gives Hans-Dieter Flick a new option at right-back, a position that had until now been held without real competition by Jules Koundé.
