Luka Modrić is getting closer to joining AC Milan. Out of contract with Real Madrid after the Club World Cup, the 39-year-old Croatian midfielder has reportedly given the green light to the Italian club’s management.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio (Sky Italia), an agreement could be signed as early as this Wednesday. Modrić is expected to sign a one-year deal with the Rossoneri, aiming to stay in top form ahead of the 2026 World Cup with Croatia.
Modrić and Milan: A Perfect Match
At nearly 39, Modrić isn’t looking for a farewell tour—he wants a meaningful role. With Tijjani Reijnders set to leave, Milan are offering him a real spot in midfield, where he’ll be counted on to guide the next generation. It’s a sporting gamble, but also a symbolic one, for one of the most elegant players of his generation.
Despite interest from other Champions League clubs, the Croatian captain appears drawn to Milan’s prestige—and the chance for one final challenge in a league he’s never played in.
The story between Luka Modrić and AC Milan is about to begin—and it could be a beautiful one.
