Real Madrid can count on Alvaro Arbeloa. The Spanish coach remains loyal, but when it comes to his future, he speaks bluntly—he simply doesn’t care.
An interim role without pressure… Appointed to the Real Madrid bench in January to replace Xabi Alonso, Alvaro Arbeloa is moving forward in complete uncertainty. Will he be kept as head coach of the first team or sent back to Castilla at the end of the season? The Spanish tactician clearly does not see it as a priority.
A coach focused on the present, not the future
During a press conference, the former right-back showed total calm: “It’s the last thing on my mind, I don’t even think about it.” A surprising, almost detached stance, especially as his future will be decided in the coming weeks.
Arbeloa insists he works without overthinking, as if he were there for the long term: “I coach as if I’ve been here for 15 years… and still have 15 more to go.” A way to relieve pressure despite an inevitably unstable situation.
Still, his fate will depend on results. Between La Liga and the Champions League, Real Madrid’s objectives could ultimately determine whether the coach keeps his position or not, even as he refuses to look ahead for now.
