Xabi Alonso’s era at Real Madrid is already descending into chaos. According to Radio Marca, a single misstep against Olympiakos in the Champions League will be enough to trigger his dismissal. Anything but a win in Greece, and it’s over.
Xabi Alonso, finished? The answer could come as early as Wednesday night around 11 p.m. Radio Marca reports that a defeat against Olympiakos would immediately seal his fate.
Facing the storm, Alonso is trying to stay in control.
In his press conference, he insisted that “managing a locker room is just as important as tactical and physical work,” and he downplayed rumors of tension with his players: “Top players are demanding and professional. Situations can happen, but you must keep the connection.”
One defeat and he’s out
When asked about his future, he remained unmoved: “My job? I don’t pay attention to anything else. I focus on what happens at Valdebebas and on the pitch.”
Despite the club’s official public support, the reality at Real Madrid never changes: to survive, you must win. Tonight will decide everything.
