Benjamin Pavard’s time at Inter Milan looks to be coming to an end. No longer in Cristian Chivu’s plans, the 2018 World Cup winner is being pushed towards the exit, and suitors are lining up. According to L’Équipe, Marseille have entered the race, joining Galatasaray, Lille, Neom… and even Barcelona.
Under contract until 2028, Pavard’s status shifted after Simone Inzaghi’s departure, with Inter no longer keen to keep him. Journalist Loïc Tanzi confirmed that Pavard would not reject a serious offer from OM, giving the Ligue 1 side a real chance to make a statement signing.
But the competition is fierce: while Lille are unlikely to afford him, Saudi side Neom have already tabled a huge contract, and Galatasaray are circling too.
Barça needs money
The biggest obstacle for Marseille remains financial. Inter are demanding between €20–25m, while Pavard’s salary would also be significant. Still, the allure of the Vélodrome and the prestige of Ligue 1 could weigh in OM’s favor. A potential coup that could transform their backline if they manage to pull it off.
On the other hand, Barça also see Pavard as an attractive option. His versatility — capable of playing both centrally and at right-back — fits perfectly with Xavi’s squad needs. But the Catalans are currently hamstrung by finances.
At an estimated €20m, Pavard is out of reach for now, with the club prioritizing player registrations. For the Blaugrana, a move is only possible if money comes in.
