Six months after joining Olympique de Marseille, Angel Gomes’ future already appears uncertain. Signed on a free transfer last summer, the 25-year-old English midfielder could be on his way out as early as the winter transfer window, according to information from L’Équipe.
Is Angel Gomes already on the hot seat? Used less and less in recent weeks, Gomes (17 appearances, 3 goals in all competitions) has struggled to establish himself as a regular part of Marseille’s rotation.
An Uncertain Future for the English Midfielder
This situation raises questions, especially since his entourage would reportedly be open to a move this winter, with the player keeping a potential World Cup appearance firmly in his sights.
Under contract with OM until 2028, the former Lille player still retains strong market value.
Estimated at 18 million euros by Transfermarkt, he could allow the Marseille club to secure a significant capital gain, having been signed for free at the end of his contract with LOSC. Such a swift exit would already raise questions about Marseille’s sporting project built around the English international.
