OM want to lock down Roberto De Zerbi. Pablo Longoria no longer hides his ambition: to make the Italian coach Marseille’s own Diego Simeone.
Roberto De Zerbi has won over Marseille. In the title race, with victories against PSG, everything is going well for the Italian coach, even if he often complains in press conferences. Under contract until 2027, De Zerbi is already at the heart of a project the president wants to build for the long term.
De Zerbi, the Pillar of a Long-Term Project
Despite the reported interest from Manchester United, Longoria remains confident and accepts the reality: big clubs are interested in big coaches. But Marseille fully intend to play their hand to keep their key man.
Longoria even told the Telegraph: “I would be delighted if Roberto stayed for a long time. I would like him to become like Diego Simeone at Atlético Madrid, where he has been in place since 2011.” The message is clear: OM are betting everything on De Zerbi to build a durable and ambitious project.
