The cold war between PSG and FC Barcelona is heating up again. Paris managed to snatch Dro, and now the Spanish club is looking to strike back by signing a Paris player in return.
FC Barcelona is targeting a 17-year-old prospect from PSG. According to Fichajes, the Catalan club is closely monitoring Emmanuel Mbemba, a highly rated young central defender from the Paris academy who is considered one of the top talents of his generation.
Barcelona Targets PSG’s Rising Defensive Talent
Currently under a youth contract until 2026, Mbemba was expected to sign his first professional deal with Paris. However, Barcelona’s arrival in the race has reportedly slowed the process. The Blaugrana management sees a market opportunity and an ideal fit for their youth-focused project: a modern defender, comfortable in buildup play, with strong long-term potential.
PSG does not want to let him go and is said to be preparing a faster move to secure his future. The player’s camp is taking time to consider the options. A behind-the-scenes PSG–Barcelona duel has now begun for a talent who has yet to make his professional debut but is already attracting major attention.
