Is Luis Enrique becoming the greatest legend in Paris Saint-Germain history? After the club’s second consecutive UEFA Champions League title, former PSG midfielder Jérôme Rothen believes the Spanish coach already deserves an extraordinary tribute.
It is fair to say that Luis Enrique has become the most successful manager in PSG history in just two seasons. Winning back-to-back Champions League titles is an achievement that will be difficult to surpass. For Rothen, such a feat should never be forgotten. Speaking on RMC, the former Parisian midfielder suggested an idea that is both symbolic and spectacular: building a statue of Luis Enrique outside the Parc des Princes.
Rothen Calls for a Lasting Tribute
“Build him a statue,” Rothen declared, impressed by the impact the Spanish coach has had on the club. In his view, Luis Enrique has transformed much more than the team’s results. He has changed the mentality at PSG and established a genuine winning culture.
“When I see the love he shows for this club… everything he has brought is incredible,” the former French international insisted. Rothen believes that Luis Enrique already occupies a unique place in the history of the Parisian club.
Although PSG is not currently considering such a project, the debate has now begun. One thing is certain: with two consecutive Champions League titles and a contract extension reportedly set to run until 2030, Luis Enrique continues to strengthen his legendary status in the French capital.
