PSG are getting Ferran Torres back earlier than expected. The Paris forward has been allowed to leave the Spain squad after suffering discomfort in his left ankle during the international break. He will now return to Paris to continue treatment and undergo further assessment.
Ferran Torres will therefore not finish the international break with La Roja. The player has been experiencing discomfort in his left ankle for several days, although the issue had not previously prevented him from training or playing for his national team. With the pain persisting, however, the Spanish staff decided not to take any risks. In coordination with PSG’s medical team, the decision was made to release the forward so he can continue his recovery with his club.
PSG Await Further Tests on Ferran Torres
As a result, Ferran Torres will miss Spain’s next two Nations League matches, against the Czech Republic in Oviedo on Saturday and Croatia on Tuesday. At this stage, no specific injury has been publicly diagnosed. The Spanish Football Federation has only referred to persistent pain in his left ankle and has not provided any timeframe for his recovery. PSG will therefore wait for Torres to return to Paris and potentially undergo further tests before determining the exact nature of the problem. A minor issue requiring only a few days of rest remains possible, but the club will want to make sure there is no more serious injury behind the discomfort.
The medical teams of PSG and Spain had already been in contact regarding Ferran Torres since the start of the international break, suggesting his departure from the squad is primarily a precautionary measure designed to prevent the problem from worsening. Nevertheless, the timing is far from ideal for Luis Enrique. Torres has become an important part of PSG’s attack, and the club’s schedule will quickly intensify after the break.
Paris are due to return to action against Le Mans at the Parc des Princes on October 10 before travelling to face Manchester City in the Champions League four days later. Spain have already responded to Torres’ withdrawal by calling up Real Madrid Under-21 international Carlos Espí. PSG are now waiting for the forward’s return to establish a more precise diagnosis. His withdrawal from the Spain squad is confirmed, but no timeframe for his absence with PSG has yet been announced.
