Appointed in February to replace Stéphane Gilli, Antoine Kombouaré has completely revived the team. Unbeaten in eight matches, including seven under his leadership, the 62-year-old coach quickly won unanimous support internally.
A major squad overhaul on the horizon
According to L’Équipe, the trend is now clear: a contract extension is well on track. His management style, communication, and methods have impressed those at the top, making him the central figure of the Parisian project.
However, behind this renewed stability, a massive rebuild is underway. Kombouaré himself has hinted at it: the squad will undergo significant changes. Between 10 and 12 departures are expected this summer, particularly among players whose contracts are ending or who have seen limited playing time in recent months.
Marco Neppe is already working on shaping the future squad. The plan could involve activating the purchase option for Luca Koleosho and securing Marshall Munetsi on a permanent deal. Meanwhile, the situation surrounding Diego Coppola remains unclear. Despite everything, Kombouaré admits to feeling a sense of “melancholy” at the prospect of several players leaving — proof that the dressing room is united, even if a major clean-out is inevitable.
