PSG vs Bayern: Luis Enrique defends Barcola and throws shade at the Bundesliga. No way Paris are selling him to Munich.

This Saturday at 6pm, PSG and Bayern Munich face off in the Club World Cup quarter-finals—a clash with fireworks expected both on and off the pitch. Ahead of the big game, Luis Enrique responded bluntly to rumours linking Bradley Barcola with the German giants.

“Bradley Barcola has been a key player this season. He’s taken his fair share of criticism in Paris—normal for a second-year player. It’s all part of growing. Of course, we want him to stay for many years, and that’s what he wants too. I have no doubt about that.”

Luis Enrique added: “Who knows what the transfer window holds. It’s great when top clubs admire our players, but we’re fully committed to our young talents, especially the French ones.”

“Ligue 1 is competitive too”

And the PSG boss didn’t hesitate to send a subtle dig towards Bayern and the Bundesliga: “The Bundesliga is usually won by Bayern with a big points gap—sometimes even more than PSG in France. It’s a strong league, yes, and we’ve seen that in Europe. I don’t have much time to watch German football, but I know the teams in the Champions League. French clubs have also shown strong performances in Europe.”

The message is clear before kickoff. Barcola’s not going anywhere.
